Baan

In 2000, an intranet was created for 600 users within the European support organization. All information was centrally shared. In every country and department people were trained to share their information.

In 2001 this initiative was rolled out worldwide and the organization was kept up-to-date through e-mail newsletters. In the same year, the first content management system was implemented by a team of people from India and America.

Internet strategy and organization
In 2002, the assignment was to set up an Internet strategy and organization for the whole company. In addition to the management of the entire Internet, intranet and extranet environments, it was also necessary to consolidate the various 200 plus sites into one central content management environment. This resulted in substantial savings, a global consistent look and feel and more efficiency. When Baan was taken over by Invensys in 2001, there was close involvement from the Web Steering Committee. This team’s goal was to have all the subsidiary companies, all with different interests, on one system and with a uniform appearance.
